Genova!

IMG_0348_copy.jpg

This is pretty much a well speaking picture of what Genoa is, given that the «thing» in the upper right corner wasn’t there. Buildings that desperately need renovation, a unbelievable amount of scooters and some odd looking cars. And not to forget, narrow streets, all over the city.

Can’t say anything but that I did like this city. One have to look for it, what is nice that is.

Chess?

Are the Genovese more than average interested in chess? The King and the Queen is gone, but…..

So this is the fountain in Piazza de Ferrari in Genoa, Italy. Didn’t find much about it using Google for 45 seconds. Never mind, it is me in the picture below here.

Going jeans!

This ship is to be found in the harbor area in Genoa. It is a a fully-functional Spanish galleon, used in the Roman Polanski movie Pirates. Said to be on of the best pirate-movie ever made. This is a good line from the movie, «Holy Poker, you son of a double-eyed whore from the reeking gutters of Rotterdam!»

If you ever get to go to see this ship, look at the ship. Do not look at the water! You’ve been warned!

IMG_0347_copy.jpg

Like no matter what I did, I couldn’t make this ship fit into one picture whit my camera, unless going into places where the locals (Italian) drive their cars. No one is that stupid….

Classic Norwegian dinner

This dinner reminds me of the summer back in the old days, 70’s that is. Damn it, I’m not that old. In th summer, we did fish salmon with a net, and got too much of it. Real salmon, did go up the river Namsen & Bjøra from the ocean. Nothing like the ones that we now can buy the whole year around from the fish farms. Can’t be compared to real salmon!

This one is caught in the Pacific Ocean, and brought to a store here in Norway. It was pretty cheap too. Well, it is boiled salmon, boiled in very salty water, it is the seasons first potatoes (almost), then there are some sour cream, and a cucumber salad – made with white wine vinegar, sugar, salt and some pepper. Melted butter of course, this is a dish from the countryside….
